Desktop computer repair in Oakland & Alameda
Desktop PC troubleshooting and repair for custom systems, office computers, gaming PCs, workstations, and everyday home computers.
Diagnosis first
Desktop computers are easier to expand than laptops, but they can still fail in ways that are difficult to isolate. Power supplies, memory, graphics cards, storage devices, cooling systems, motherboards, and Windows problems can produce similar symptoms.
MEG troubleshoots standard desktops, small-form-factor business PCs, custom systems, gaming builds, and many workstation problems from our Oakland and Alameda shops.
What we check
Exact service depends on the model, condition, and parts available. These are some of the issues we regularly evaluate.
No power, shutdowns, or restart loops
Power-supply and motherboard faults
Graphics card and display-output problems
Memory and storage failures
CPU cooling, fans, dust buildup, and overheating
Windows startup and driver problems
Custom PC compatibility and component issues
Repair decisions
Because desktop components are modular, a failed part can often be replaced without replacing the whole computer. We look at the age of the platform, part availability, performance needs, and overall condition before recommending a repair.
For custom and gaming PCs, we also consider power requirements, cooling, BIOS settings, component compatibility, and whether a recent upgrade may have introduced the problem.
Bring the computer tower. You usually do not need to bring the monitor, keyboard, or mouse unless the issue seems related to one of them. For custom systems, tell us about any recent hardware or BIOS changes.
