No power and boot repair in Oakland & Alameda
Troubleshooting for computers that will not power on, will not start correctly, show a blank screen, or stop during the boot process.
Diagnosis first
A computer that appears dead may have a charger, battery, power-supply, motherboard, memory, display, firmware, or storage problem. A computer that turns on but never reaches the operating system needs a different diagnostic path than one with no signs of power at all.
We diagnose these startup failures in Oakland and Alameda for laptops, desktops, Macs, and PCs.
What we check
Exact service depends on the model, condition, and parts available. These are some of the issues we regularly evaluate.
No lights, fan, or response to the power button
Power comes on but the screen stays black
Manufacturer logo appears but the system will not start
Repeated startup or recovery loops
Drive not detected or operating system errors
Battery, charger, and power-supply faults
Motherboard and board-level power problems
Repair decisions
We first separate power, display, firmware, storage, and operating-system problems. That avoids replacing a screen when the computer is not actually completing startup, or replacing a drive when the machine has a deeper power fault.
If your files are more important than restoring the computer, say so before repeated repair attempts. A failing drive or damaged board can require a data-first approach.
Bring the computer and its normal charger for laptops. For desktops, bring the tower. If you see an error message or flashing-light pattern, a photo of it can be useful.
How service works
Tell us the symptoms, what happened before they started, and whether your data is especially important.
We narrow down the likely failure and determine the practical repair options. Diagnostic charges apply based on the device and work required.
We explain the findings and expected cost before approved repair work moves forward.
Questions
Yes. We check the external power source, battery, charging path, and internal power circuitry to narrow down the failure.
Possibly, but not necessarily. Memory, firmware, graphics, motherboard, and other startup failures can also produce a black screen.
Yes. We can diagnose operating-system, update, storage, and hardware causes of repeated startup failures.
Diagnosis does not automatically mean erasing the computer. If operating-system repair or drive replacement could affect data, we discuss that before proceeding.
